Privacy Policy

North York Hood Cleaning is the operator of this website and the phone line printed on it, and this policy is the record of what each one learns about a visitor, where that information travels, how long it is held and how a person gets it corrected or erased. It follows the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA), the federal privacy law that governs a Canadian business handling personal information in the course of trade. Reading a page here identifies nobody. Personal information reaches this business through the quote form or through a phone call, both described below. Last updated: September 2026.

Information the quote form collects

The same form appears on the homepage and the contact page. It gathers two kinds of information.

Fields you fill in. Five, all required:

  • Your name
  • A phone number
  • An email address
  • The business or kitchen name
  • A message describing what you need

Values the page attaches on its own. Three, none of which identifies you:

  • The address and title of the page the form was sent from, so a reply can refer to it
  • A form label, either hero-quote-home or hero-quote-contact, saying which copy of the form was used
  • A timing value recorded when the page loaded, used to discard submissions sent faster than a person can read the form

A hidden trap field. One input is invisible to a person and is left blank by every real visitor. Automated scripts fill it, and any submission with that field filled is thrown away before it reaches anyone.

Never requested. Payment card numbers, banking details, government identification numbers and health information. A message that volunteers any of these is deleted from the record on request.

Where a submission travels, and the tracked phone line

Two stops for a form, one path for a call.

Stop one: a Netlify serverless function. Pressing the button on the quote form sends the fields to a small program hosted on this domain by Netlify. The program checks the trap field and the timing value, refuses posts that arrive from another website, forwards a clean submission onward, and holds no database of its own.

Stop two: the GoHighLevel CRM. The clean submission becomes a contact record in the customer relationship system used to run North York Hood Cleaning. The record triggers a notification to the person who writes quotes and books visits.

647-797-9137 is a call-tracking number. It forwards every call to the crew that answers quotes, and the call itself is logged in the same CRM against the caller's phone number, along with the time of the call. No conversation is transcribed or published from this record. The number exists so a call and a form submission from the same kitchen can be matched to one file rather than two.

The purpose, and its limit. A record exists so that a written quote can come back within 24 hours and a visit can be scheduled. You may receive a call, a text message or an email for those two reasons. Nothing else runs from a form submission or a call: no newsletter, no automated marketing sequence, no list rental. Reply stop to any text and the texts end.

No sale or sharing for advertising. Contact records are not sold, rented, traded, or passed to an advertising network.

Servers outside Canada. Netlify and GoHighLevel may hold data on servers in the United States. PIPEDA permits this where the information stays under contractual protection comparable to the protection it has in Canada, and both providers publish their own privacy commitments.

Google Analytics, the chat widget and cookies

Google Analytics. Every page loads the Google Analytics tag G-X4LG7Y5JJE. It is configured for pageview measurement only: which pages are viewed, in what order, from what kind of device and from roughly which region. It does not receive anything typed into the quote form and does not receive the content of a phone call. The measurement helps decide which pages are worth improving. Google processes this data under its own terms, and a browser extension or the browser's own tracking-protection setting blocks the tag without affecting the rest of the site.

The GoHighLevel chat widget. Where a chat bubble appears in the corner of a page, GoHighLevel provides it. The widget loads only after you interact with the page or after a short idle period, never on first paint, and it may use its own cookie or browser storage to keep one conversation together as you move between pages on this domain. Anything typed into it reaches the same CRM as the form and is treated the same way. Ignoring the bubble costs you nothing; the phone and the form cover everything it does.

Cookies set by this site itself. None. The pages carry no login, no shopping cart and no preference settings. The only cookies that may appear come from Google Analytics and from the chat widget, as described above.

Hosting and delivery logs. Netlify and the content delivery network that serves this site keep short-lived server logs (IP address, browser type, page requested, time) for security and uptime. Nobody at North York Hood Cleaning reads those logs to identify a visitor.

Retention, access, correction and deletion

How long a record stays. An enquiry or a call that does not become a booking is kept long enough to answer it and to recognise the same kitchen if it gets in touch again. After a completed visit, the signed certificate and the before-and-after photographs are safety records that a kitchen may need to show a fire prevention officer, a public health inspector or an insurer, so they stay on file together with the contact details needed to reissue them.

Asking what is held. PIPEDA gives you the right to see the personal information an organisation holds about you. Call 647-797-9137 or write through the contact page. A copy is supplied within the period PIPEDA allows, in most cases 30 days.

Getting it corrected. A wrong number, a new email address or a kitchen that has changed its name is updated on request.

Getting it deleted. Contact details and call records are removed on request. The one exception is the certificate and photographs for completed work, which are kept as safety records, and that exception is explained when the request is made.

If a concern is not settled. Raise it by phone first, and a person answers. Anyone in Canada who remains unsatisfied may file a complaint with the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada, which oversees PIPEDA.

Under-18s and outside links. This site is written for people who operate commercial kitchens and is not directed at minors. A parent or guardian who believes a minor sent the form or made the call can call and have the record removed. Once you follow a link off this domain, the other site's privacy practices apply.

Changes. When the way information is handled changes, this page changes with it and the date at the top of the page moves. The terms and conditions cover the commercial side of a booking.

Privacy: frequently asked questions

Why does 647-797-9137 log the caller number in the CRM?

The number is a call-tracking line that forwards to the crew that answers quotes. Logging the caller number against the call record lets a written quote reference an earlier conversation instead of starting over, and lets a kitchen that also submitted the form be recognised as one file. No conversation content is recorded or transcribed.

Who can see what is typed into the quote form or logged from a call?

The person who writes the quote and books the visit. Netlify runs the forwarding function, GoHighLevel hosts the CRM and the call log, and both act as service providers under their own privacy terms. No other company receives the record.

Does Google Analytics see form submissions or call details?

No. The Google Analytics tag on this site records page views only. Form fields go to the Netlify function by a separate request, and a call never passes through Google at all.

Can the chat widget be switched off?

The chat bubble can be ignored, closed, or blocked with a browser setting, and the site works the same way without it. The GoHighLevel widget loads after an interaction or a short idle period, and it stores data on this domain only, to hold one conversation together between pages here.

How is a deletion request made, and what is kept afterwards?

A call to 647-797-9137 or a note through the contact page is enough. Contact details and the call log are removed. The certificate and photographs for a completed visit stay on file as safety records, and the reason is explained at the time.

A question about a record on file

The number that answers quotes also handles requests to see, correct or delete your details. Call 647-797-9137 or send a note through the contact page.
